Te Pia is the first step for Taiohi (young people)
wanting to participate in adventure therapy. This programme offers a chance to form connections with kaimahi, fellow taiohi, and our Taiao before transitioning into the Te Mahuri Adventure Therapy Programme.
Rooted in Kaupapa Māori Adventure Therapy, Te Pia focuses on four key values from the
Circle of Courage model:

TE MĀHURI

Te Māhuri builds upon the foundation laid by Te Pia,
offering Taiohi (young people) an immersive experience in Taiao, emphasising whānau ora and Te Ao Māori values.
This programme is structured around seven key values, including Whānau Ora (Family Health) and Mahinga Kai (Food Cultivation)
Te Māhuri guides Taiohi on a journey of self-discovery and community bonding. Participants engage in outdoor activities, connecting deeply with the Whenua and their cultural identity.
TŪ KAHIKATEA

Tū Kahikatea is the initial step for Taiohi and Pakeke wanting to participate in adventure therapy.
This programme offers a chance to form connections and whanaungatanga before transitioning into the Te Waonui Adventure Therapy Programme.

TE WAONUI

Te Waonui builds on the foundation laid by Tū Kahikatea, offering Taiohi and Pakeke an immersive experience in Te Ao Turoa (the natural world), emphasising whānau ora and Te Ao Māori values.
Structured around the six Pou, Te Waonui guides participants on a journey of self-discovery and community bonding.
Participants engage in outdoor activities, forging a deep connection with the Whenua and their cultural heritage.
